A historical fiction, serial webcomic depicting untold bourbon backstories about the rebellious spirits forgotten by history. From freed enslaved people to cross-dressing bushwhackers, America’s Chosen Spirit follows a badass Jewish female protagonist (Nora) and her family through Jewish American culture from Reconstruction to Temperance, Prohibition, and its Repeal. With the grit of Boardwalk Empire and the intensity of Breaking Bad, the series offers an archivally inspired and creatively refreshing take on the only federally regulated beverage in the United States: bourbon.
